Lantern Chinese Restaurant in Blacklick

This is a small chinese restaurant. They serve apetizers, soups, vegetables, chicken, seafood dishes. I love their egg drop soup. You can also try mala chicken, schezwan chicken and house special fried rice. You can ask the food to be prepared per your spice level.

Their food is consistently delicious and the atmosphere is nice. They are very friendly and I love their orange chicken. I highly recommend this place as it is my favorite Chinese food place on the east side.

This was always our go to Chinese place before we moved to Florida. We came back 5 years later and it's still as good as it was. Friendly, good prices an better portions. Love the Honey walnut chicken and hot tea!!

First time ordering from here. Placing order was made easy by the helpful lady answering phone.We live about 20 minutes away from restaurant.Order was ready when we arrived. It was packaged professionally and securely. When we got home our food was still hot and more importantly it was delicious! We will certainly be returning. Used to love this place. Ordered a meal with shrimp and scallops!! 2 shrimp and 0 scallops. Sent our meal back twice and no scallops, waitress explained the chef was confused. About scallops? The portions were small and we paid good money for a bad experience in a place I used to frequent often. Very sad, wasted my money, embarrasses me because I was treating my daughter and her boyfriend.

Nice atmosphere and normally I enjoy the food. Egg Foo young no so good maybe a different cook.

Pad thai with vegetables is where it's at..but charging for each vegetable is ridiculous when you are only getting a couple. Food is delicious. Also recommend the wor sui gui

Lunch with friends is always tricky. Destinations are frequently average chain or local establishments. This week the choice was the Lantern. It is not a chain, but it is an average establishment. Pricing is in the $10 a person meals unless you want seafood. Service depends on the number of people dining. Sunday lunch is not a packed house but it is a bit slow. There isnt a lot diners have to fear... nothing too exotic and the spicy dishes are not too spicy.If you have never tried Chinese food, this would be a good place to start.In my opinion, this could be thought of as an inexpensive senior citizen friendly dining experience.

This was one of the best food I have eaten in so long! It was top quality food. Not greasy and where everything tastes the same. It was fresh with vegetables and the seasoning was perfect. The staff was beyond friendly. Went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Just a super nice place that we will be going to again for sure.

My first visit. Service was quick and courteous with a wide selection on the menu. I ordered Garlic Chicken and an egg roll. Both were hot and flavorful, with a nice lunch portion size for a fair price.

The decor hasn't been updated in more than a decade. Peeling wallpaper and ceiling tiles that look moldy make me second-guess myself each time I go in. Food is consistent quality each time, and generous portions.

Awesome food and wonderful staff. Very well ran. And a very comfortable atmosphere. We hope this place is here forever. We love it💓!

Mediocre at best. Missing stuff from my order, chicken was extremely soggy and soupy. Ordered orange chicken I've and I'm pretty certain that isn't what I got. No trace of orange at all just tasted like left over General Tso's from 3 days ago. I've had better from a frozen dinner. Lastly, extremely overpriced. For a place as expensive as this, it's probably the worst Chinese restaurant I've eaten at. Skip this trash and go elsewhere. There are many better options around

40 dollars worth of water chestnuts and tiny little peices of corn, all filler... so disappointed... Sakana across the street is way better and better pricing.

Ordered Doordash pickup. Singapore noodles and wings for wife, mala pork for myself. Can't review the pork, unfortunately, as the container wasn't sealed properly, leaked through the brown paper bag, and dropped itself all over my stairs.PLEASE PROPERLY SEAL CONTAINERS.

Several unfortunate things to report from my visit today. No one stationed at the front lobby to greet and seat guests. After several minutes, someone appeared. Ordered orange chicken. It did not even vaguely taste like orange chicken. Despite the menu stating that tea and soft drink refills are free, we were charged extra because their cash register cannot process types of drinks correctly (when my husband switched from tea to cola). They admitted it was in error that they were over charging us, but there was nothing they could do about it and refused to try. They also charged us for an entire $8 entree in order to order pineapple rice instead of fried rice. Ridiculous. We'll never be back. They missed an opportunity to impress first time customers. I'll tell everyone I know to stay away.

By far the best Chinese restaurant in the Columbus\Reynoldsburg area. The restaurant was clean, wait staff attentive, friendly, and the.food delivered timely without issues. Everything from the appetizer to the entree was perfect. Best egg rolls I've ever had. The peppercorn calamari was amazing. I will definitely be gong back.

This restaurant is amazing. The owner is very friendly and always talks to me, and she remembers everything we talk about. Food is out of this world delicious and the price is very good too. Will always come here as long as they are open and I still live in the area.

I will never come here again. The lady was rude, the lunch menu is OVERPRICED and they literally gave me half of container of shrimp from rice for 6.50. If I could post the picture, I would. I could literally see the bottom.of the container for than I seen rice in the container 😡😡😡😡😡

I loved this place.Normally I go to this place for lunch and the amount of food they serve is sufficient for one person. I have seen some negative feedback but Whenever I went this placed, I have ordered house fried rice and I have not disappointed.

Overall good Chinese food, not the best, not the worst. Egg rolls were satisfying but caught me a bit off guard, THATS A LOT OF CABBAGE I shouted in my most caught off guard voice. The wonton soup was good. A nice mix of dirty hole in the wall Chinese and a fake upscale place.My Mongolian beef was a bit chewy, no Bubbalicous, maybe like warm juicy fruit. Tasty none the less. Wallpaper was coming off the walls, so that didn’t add to the elegance of the inside. Overall an experience.

We love this place. We try and go every time we are in the area. We have gone every Mother’s Day, since their opening. Sadly my Mom passed away 4 years ago. We still do, in her memory. This is the first year we were not able to go. Sad face. It was due to the COVID-19.

Some of the best Chinese in the entire city. All the way from the appetizers (calamari amazing) to their entrees (tender steak, wor su gai superb, had scallops last time cooked perfectly). All around great.

So so SO good! My new favorite place. Seriously amazing food, but the SERVICE! 😍😍 the best service i've ever had at a Chinese place. This dude was so helpful, so knowledgeable and so patient with me. Wish I knew his name to give him a shout out, bc he was a game changer! I'm a difficult customer bc I'm vegan and it didn't even phase him, at all. He took the time to educate me (omg, lo mein are freaking egg noodles, ya'll) and edit my dish for me. He taught me how to pronounce the beer, too! The restaurant itself is very nice inside, very clean, beautiful background music, cool kettle for the tea and nice chopsticks, makes ya feel fancy. Throughly enjoyed coming in twice in three days. We gotta go back through columbus tomorrow and i'm hoping we can stop again, I would totally come back if everyone else on the trip wants to.

We miss Double Dragon but this place is pretty good.

I feel like family when I visit. It is by far the best Chinese in Columbus. The server remembers me every time we visit. Ask for recommendations, they will not disappoint. Off the menu steamed fish and dumplings is AMAZING! I’m a foodie, trust me, this place is excellent. The Salt pepper shrimp appetizer lives in my dreams. 🤣

Ok guys so lantern is a great restaurant, the food is fabulous but they did remove the almond chicken from the kitchen and that made me a little upset but they have great options to replace it. The staff was turned over from the main Chinese guy who where absolutely nice great service. They have slightly expanded the ethnicity of workers but most where trained but the original people so the new guys have the same or similar skill set and reliability. Very solid amount of food and great prices. Every sunday and occasionally through out the week I go there and grab me some lunch. They do dine in and carryout and just started using a delivery service.

Overpriced, small serving, slow service, food not all that good. Sorry to be giving a negative review.
